Frequently asked questions
Yes. Surreal POS is built offline-first. All your products,
customers, and sales data are stored locally on your device. You
can ring up sales, manage inventory, and print receipts without
any internet access. An internet connection is only required for
license verification and optional cloud features.
Navigate to the Stock Management section from the main menu. Tap
the "+" button to add a new product. Enter the product name,
price, category, description, and stock quantity. You can also add
a product image from your photo library or scan the product
barcode to populate details automatically.
From the Home (POS) screen, tap on the products you want to sell
to add them to the cart. You can also scan barcodes to add items.
Once all items are added, tap the cart icon to review and proceed
to checkout. Select the payment method, confirm the amount, and
complete the sale. A receipt can be printed or shared immediately.
Yes. After completing a sale, you can generate a PDF receipt and
share it via email, WhatsApp, or any other app on your device. You
can also print directly if your device is connected to a
compatible printer. Receipts include your business name, logo, tax
details, and itemised purchase list.
Go to Settings → Tax Settings. Enter your VAT, GST, or applicable
tax rate as a percentage. The tax will be applied automatically to
all transactions and shown on receipts. You can configure
different tax rates for different product categories if needed.
Go to the Reports section from the main navigation. You can view
daily, weekly, and monthly sales summaries, top-selling products,
and revenue breakdowns. Reports can be exported as PDF or CSV
files and shared directly from your device.
Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your
device. We strongly recommend exporting your data (via the Reports
or Settings export feature) and enabling your device's backup
system (iCloud for iOS, Google Backup for Android) before
uninstalling.
Navigate to Settings → Licence. Enter your licence key in the
activation field and tap "Activate". An internet connection is
required for licence verification. If activation fails, ensure you
have an active connection and that the key has not already been
used on another device. Contact support if the problem persists.
First, ensure the app has camera permission. Go to your device
Settings → Apps → Surreal POS → Permissions and enable Camera.
Ensure adequate lighting when scanning. If the issue persists, try
restarting the app. If a specific barcode is not recognised, it
may not be a standard format supported by your device camera.
The free tier supports single-device use. Paid licences may
include multi-device support depending on the plan. Each device
stores its own local database. Cross-device sync is subject to the
features included in your licence plan. Contact us for details on
multi-device or multi-register setups.
All your on-device business data can be deleted by uninstalling
the app. For deletion of any account or licensing data held by us,
please send a request to
privacy@sourcegambit.com
with the subject "Data Deletion Request". We will process your
request within 30 days.
